Safeway Recalls Safeway Select French Salted Caramel (Fleur De Sel) Premium Ice Cream Sold November 4 through December 5 Due to an Undeclared Peanut Allergen

Safeway is voluntarily recalling Safeway Select French Salted Caramel (Fleur De Sel) Premium Ice Cream sold in all Safeway-owned stores from November 4, 2014 through December 5, 2014 due to the inclusion of an undeclared peanut allergen.

The recalled Safeway Select French Salted Caramel (Fleur De Sel) Premium Ice Cream was sold in all Safeway, Carrs, Genuardi’s, Pak ‘N Save, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb and Vons stores throughout the United States.

Abdallah Candies Announces the Voluntary Recall of Holiday Caramel Bites

Abdallah Candies of Burnsville, MN is taking precautionary measures and voluntarily recalling red and silver foil wrapped Holiday Caramel Bites. One customer has reported finding a peanut butter bite, wrapped in red foil, in a bag of holiday caramel bites.

Peanut butter bites contain peanuts as an ingredient, which was not declared on the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

This food product was distributed since Nov. 1, 2014 nationwide at gift shops and other retail locations.

Overhill Farms Voluntarily Recalls Open Nature Chile Cheese Enchiladas Sold At Safeway Stores Nationwide Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination

Overhill Farms, Inc. of Vernon, California is voluntarily recalling the frozen food product Open Nature Chile Cheese Enchiladas due to potential Salmonella contamination. The supplier for the organic cilantro contained in such product notified Overhill Farms that the organic cilantro may have Salmonella contamination based on routine testing conducted. 

The product is sold nationwide at all Safeway-owned stores, including Safeway, Carrs, Genuardi’s, Pak ‘N Save, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb and Vons.

Whole Foods Market’s Southwest Region recalls Vegan Pumpkin Pie due to Undeclared Walnuts

Whole Foods Market is recalling “Vegan pumpkin pie” produced and sold in the Southwest Region, which includes TX, OK, LA, AR, due to undeclared walnuts. The product was sold as half and full pies packaged in both clear, clamshell packaging and brown, Kraft paper boxes with “sell by” dates of 10/27/14-­‐‑11/30/14.

The vegan pumpkin pies contain walnuts as an ingredient, which was not declared on the label.

The Kroger Co. said it is recalling select containers of Private Selection Denali Extreme Moose Tracks Ice Cream sold in 13 states because it may contain peanuts not listed on the label.

B&G Foods Issues Allergy Alert On Undeclared Peanut And Almond In Product

B&G Foods announced today it is voluntarily recalling certain Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix, Ortega Taco Sauce, Ortega Enchilada Sauce and Ortega Taco Kit products and certain Las Palmas Taco Seasoning Mix and Las Palmas Taco Sauce products after learning that one or more of the spice ingredients purchased from a third party supplier contain peanuts and almonds, allergens that are not declared on the products’ ingredient statements.

Carlton Foods, a New Braunfels, Texas establishment, is recalling approximately 25,764 pounds of fresh Boudin products, which were produced with pre-cooked rice that may have experienced temperature abuse and may contain an emetic toxin produced by Bacillus cereus.

Mars Chocolate North America Issues Allergy Alert Voluntary Recall On Undeclared Peanut Butter In M&M’s® Brand Milk Chocolate Theater Box

Mars Chocolate North America announced a voluntary recall of its M&M’S® Brand Theater Box 3.40 oz. This theater box item with the lot codes provided in the FDA website may contain product containing peanut butter without listing on the ingredient label on the outside cardboard box.  The inside package is correctly labelled with ingredients and allergy information. 

The issue was identified after a consumer notified us of a M&M’S® Brand Peanut Butter package containing peanut butter M&M’S® inside a M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Theater Box. 
These specific lot codes were shipped and distributed to our customers’ warehouses between May 8 and July 1, 2014, located in:  NC, TX, MN, IL, FL, KY, MS, AZ, CO, MO, ID and many other states . These customers then redistribute products for retail sale nationwide.

Taylor Farms Pacific, Inc. of Tracy, CA has been notified that specific lots of “Expo Fresh” Roma tomatoes supplied to Taylor Farms Pacific may be contaminated with Salmonella.

This lot of Roma tomatoes was used in the following products made by Taylor Farms Pacific for Costco and Safeway and is being voluntarily recalled as a precautionary measure. The products subject to recall are:
  • All vacuum-packed plastic bags of Claude’s Beef Jerky with Red Chile
The products were sold primarily over the internet. Although the products were packed mostly in 4-oz bags they may also have been packed in bags of other sizes. There are no identifying dates or codes on any packaging. Therefore, all products produced prior to September 12, 2014 are being recalled.
