Concertos in Chocolate of Boulder, Colorado is recalling 450 solid milk chocolate Santas. Because of possible mislabeling it may contain undeclared milk products. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Solid Milk Chocolate Santas were distributed in Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Utah and Idaho through retail stores.

This product is packaged is a clear, plastic bag with a green label and green bow under the Concertos in Chocolate brand. The bag is 7” tall and weighs 5 ounces.

California Firm Recalls Dried Sausage Products Due To Possible Contamination With Staphylococcus Aureus Enterotoxin

Lee Bros. Food service Inc., a San Jose, Calif., establishment, is recalling 740 pounds of sausage products that may be contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin.

The following products are subject to recall:
  • 16 oz packages of Lee’s Sandwiches brand Pork Sausages produced on 2/11/13 with an identifying code “042P” printed on the back of the package
  • 16 oz packages of Lee’s Sandwiches brand Pork and Chicken Sausages produced on 2/12/13 with an identifying code of “043PC” printed on the back of the package

Yauk’s Specialty Meats, a Windsor, Colo., establishment, is expanding its recall to include an additional product that was produced under insanitary conditions. The products being recalled today are in addition to the various meat and poultry products that were recalled on Dec. 9 and Dec. 12, 2013.

The products subject to today’s expansion of the recall include:
  • “Corner Post Meats” brand hams and bacon.
  • “Old Style Sausage” brand Smoked Andouille Sausage.
  • “Old Style Sausage” brand Smoked Kielbasa Sausage.
All products being recalled are packaged in retail-ready packaging of various sizes.The products were produced between April 1, 2013, and Dec. 5, 2013 and can be identified by four-digit Julian dates ranging between 3091 and 3339.   • “Colorado Best Beef” brand various fresh, smoked and shelf-stable meat products.
  • “James Ranch” brand jerky and summer sausage.
  • “Rocky Plains Meats” brand hams, bacon, raw and smoked sausage, jerky and raw poultry.
  • “John Long Farms” brand fresh and smoked pork products.
  • “Horned Beef” brand jerky.
  • “Mile High Hungarian Sausage” brand fresh and smoked bacon and sausage.

Washington Firm Recalls Chicken Noodle Soup Due To Misbranding and Undeclared Allergen

StockPot, Inc., an Everett, Wash. establishment, is recalling 1,864 cases (approximately 22,368 pounds) of chicken noodle soup due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The Classic Chicken Noodle Soup product is formulated with wheat, a known allergen.  However, the product was released with a Loaded Baked Potato Style Soup side label, which does not declare this allergen.

The following product is subject to recall: 
  • 24-oz. plastic tub of Wholesome@Home “Classic Chicken Noodle Soup.” The products were produced on October 25 and 26, 2013

Cargill Conducts Voluntary Recall of Select Nutrena® NatureWise® Meatbird and Chick Starter Feed

Cargill's animal nutrition business announced a voluntary recall of two of its Nutrena NatureWise poultry feeds due to incorrect levels of calcium. The affected products were manufactured at Cargill's facilities in Flora, Ill., Oklahoma City, Okla., Abilene, Texas, and Mineola, Texas, between May 1, 2013 and Nov. 21, 2013.

Products were sold under the name NatureWise Meatbird 22% Crumble.The second product is NatureWise Chick Starter Grower 18% Crumble.

Calcium is an essential nutrient for poultry. Decreased levels of calcium in diets for meatbirds and starter chicks may lead to reduced bone growth and other bone health issues. Customers should call their veterinarian if their animals have experienced adverse health effects while consuming the affected product.

Huxtable’s Kitchen Issues Voluntary Allergy Alert on Undeclared Allergens in Butternut Squash & Creamed Spinach Gratin

Huxtable’s Kitchen Inc. of Vernon, California is voluntarily recalling one specific lot of Trader Joe’s Butternut Squash & Creamed Spinach Gratin, sold in the refrigerated section, because it may not list wheat and egg in the ingredients.
